Selling your home or investment property is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Once you have decided to sell, the next big decision is choosing a Real Estate Agency to represent you and your property.

Selling your home or investment property is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Once you have decided to sell, the next big decision is choosing a Real Estate Agency to represent you and your property.

CoreLogic RP Data, an independent property research group, conducted a survey in 2015 to understand the key traits of a Real Estate Agent that satisfied home sellers in Australia.

Here are some of the seller's opinions:

  • A marketing and sale plan that stands out – A Real Estate Agent needs to get as many potential buyers to your home. They should have a comprehensive marketing plan and strategy in mind when they list your property.
  • Being resourceful – The key is to find a real estate agent who can provide you valuable advice and recommendations to help you get the most out of your property. This advice can be on how to present your home as well as local market knowledge.
  • Have strong negotiation skill – An agent will present you with offers as well as advice on each offer. It is important to review and agree on a strategy when negotiating.
  • Be friendly & honest – A major turn-off for sellers is having arrogant and unapproachable real estate agents selling your home. You must feel comfortable to discuss all matters regarding your property. In terms of honesty, the authenticity of the person is key as they may need to communicate news that is not in your favour. A good agent will take their time with you and share news that is good or bad.
  • Respect – Seller’s want agents to be thoughtful and want to feel that the agent is on their side. The stress of selling your property can be eased by a respectful agent who considers you, your family and external factors.

Choosing a real estate agency in Penrith to represent your home or investment can be difficult. Having experience and doing things different is important. “At One Agency Reeves Properties, we feel the RP Data survey results is reflective of what we do. We focus on doing things well and getting it right for our clients, ” said Andrew Reeves, Principal of One Agency Reeves Properties.
